Oliver Cromwell was an English general who led the army against king Charles I. He was born in 1599 in Huntingdon England, and died in 1658 in the Palace of Whitehall in London.

Oliver Cromwell was an English general and statesman who led the Parliament of England's armies against King Charles I during the English Civil War and ruled the British Isles as Lord Protector from 1653 until his death in 1658. He led the anti-monarchists during the English Civil Wars, and was rewarded for his successes on the battlefield with the title of Lord Protector. When he died, he was succeeded by his son, Richard, who was not nearly the leader his father was. When Richard stepped down, Charles II was made king of England. Charles II had Cromwell's body exhumed so he could be "executed." Cromwell is a controversial figure even today as he as many supporters and detractors. He is also remembered for having a giant head with a cranial capacity of 1500ccs.
