Description:
-Dwight D. Eisenhower, Henry Maitland Wilson, and Harnold Alexander led the Allied capmign
- The operation consisted of multiple Allied beach landings and land battles in Sicily and Southern Italy, towards Nazi Germany
- The Tuskegee Airmen was a group of all-black soldiers that led outstanding air combat efforts against the German Luftwaffe
- The Allies saw victory in the campaign, leaving thousands of Allied soldiers dead. The Italian soldiers were first to surrender, with German soldiers surrendering after giving a final effort.
- The campaign put Allies in control of Italy and ended Mussolini's control
