Protestant Principles (jan 1, 1541 – nov 1, 1553)
Description:
Calvin's Ordinances covered disciplinary actions of everything from the abolition of Roman Catholic superstition, the enforcement of sexual morality, the regulation of taverns, and measures against dancing, gambling, and swearing. These measures were resented by many Geneva citizens, and native discontent only grew with the increasing number of French religious refugees.
