Early Education (jan 1, 1523 – jan 1, 1531)
Description:
Calvin's father sent him to the University of Paris, one of the most prestigious universities at the time, to be educated for the priesthood. He took a position as chaplain of Noyon Cathedral, but fell into a conflict with the bishop. Upon this conflict, Calvin left his position as chaplain in order to study law. During this time, he studied the Law at the Universities of Orleans and then Bourges. This is when Calvin first joined the cause of the Reformation.
