Description:
Giordano Bruno was an Italian philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician. He was most famous for his theory of the infinite universe. "He suggested that the universe may be infinite and populated with many worlds and that all religions should peacefully coexist" (Britanica 2020). He was burned to death by the Roman inquisition because his ideas were heretical. He was born in 1548 near Naples and died in 1600.Added to timeline:
