Description:
The Yuan dynasty (1279-1368 C.E)was deposed in 1368 C.E. by the Ming Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, who set up a stable, yet autocratic, state. The Ming emperors expanded and strengthened the Great Wall of China to preserve their crumbling borders. Invading Manchu forces from the northern border regions eventually ended the Ming dynasty in 1644 C.E. The Manchu are an ethnic minority with their own language and customs.
