Description:
World War I began with the political dispute that culminated in the assassination of the Archduke of Austria-Hungary. War broke out across Europe. The United States decided to remain neutral. Casualties amounted to about 40 million military personal and civilians, making it one of the deadliest conflicts in history. After the war, chemical warfare was banned worldwide. The events after WWI set the stage for WWII.
