Giordano Bruno, originally Filippo Bruno, was an Italian philosopher, astronomer, mathematician, and occultist whose theories foreshadowed modern science. His most significant theory was of the infinite universe and the multiplicity of worlds, where he challenged the traditional geocentric astronomy and expanded beyond the Copernican heliocentric theory.
