Description:
Flora: Flowering plants diversidied extensivley and became dominated by world forests, except in cooler regions, where the dominant plants were gymnosperms. Mutations allowed legumes to be able to use atmospheric nitrogen directly through symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria.
Fauna: All modern groups of life diversified and began to resemble those of today. Most prevalent was the mammals. Humans evolved and Homo sapiens caused the extinction of many animal species, including other human species.
