Filippo Brunelleschi (jan 1, 1377 – may 15, 1446)
Description:
Filippo Brunelleschi is most well known for creating the dome of the Duomo in Florence. He invented machines specifically for the construction of this dome. He was also a famous artist. Many of his pieces focused on linear perspective, which is “an artistic device that creates the illusion of space by depicting converging parallel lines.” A biography written by Antonio di Tuccio Manetti in the 1480’s tells us most of what we know about Filippo Brunelleschi.
