Possible 2300 year period Daniel Mentioned (jan 1, 457 BC – jan 1, 1846)
Description:
Daniel 8:11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered. (Daniel's vision of the destruction of the second Temple in 70 AD)
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? (How long until we will again have a sacrifice?)
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days (or years?); then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
(Account for shift to Gregorian calendar)
Miller (founder of the Millerites and SeventhDay Adventists) became convinced that the 2,300 day/year period started in 457 BC with the decree to rebuild Jerusalem by Artaxerxes I of Persia. Miller believed that would be the Second Coming. It wasn’t. That calculation takes us to 1843-1846 AD (taking into consideration that our calendar might be off ~3 years).
