Perhaps the greatest American theologian. He had a rebirth experience. His preaching led to the First Great Awakening (religion was in decline). Famous sermon was Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God. Congregationalist Puritan. Emotional in faith; highly intellectual in mind. Great scholar who was truly passionate about Christian faith.
