Habsburgs (jan 1, 985 – jan 1, 1740)
Description:
The Habsburgs were one of the most influential and distinguished royal houses in Europe. They got the name the Habsburgs from Habsburg castle (humble castle), which is a fortress built in Switzerland. The throne of the Holy Roman Empire was continuously occupied by the Habsburgs from 1440 until their extinction in the male line in 1740. They were also famous for their inbreeding, which made them known for their strange chins and lips.
