Description:

Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer who sailed across the Atlantic several times. He was intending on sailing around Africa to reach Asia, but he landed in North America Instead. He sailed to the new world in search of potential new trade routes, riches, etc. He exclaims in his journal that the people he encountered should work for him and should be enslaved. He brought all the attention to the Americas, even though they were already inhabited. He exploited the natives, took advantage of the language barrier and took them as slaves, and began the first elements of the slave trade.
