Pope Callistus III (dec 31, 1378 – aug 6, 1458)
Description:
Formally known as Alfonso de Borja was a Spanish pope elected on April 8, 1455. He was made the bishop of Valencia in 1429, and a cardinal in 1444. The first thing he did as pope was send people to recover Constantinople from the Turks, but he did not succeed. He helped prove Joan of Arc Innocent in her witch trial.Added to timeline:
