Description:
The treasure fleets were expeditions conducted by the Ming Empire. It took place between 1405 and 1433. “The chinese expeditionary fleet was heavily militarized and carried great amounts of treasures, which served to project Chinese power and wealth to the known world.” There were seven voyages in total and went as far as the horn of Africa. The purpose of the treasure fleets was for exploration, investigation of the surrounding world.Added to timeline:
