In 1910, Robert Millikan, an American Physicist, was able to precisely evaluate the magnitude of the electron's charge. Although this discovery may not seem like such compared to other scientists, this discovery contributed greatly to our understanding of the atom and its sub-particles. He made this discovery while conducting an experiment known as the oi drop experiment. Millikan went on to receive Nobel Prize in Physics in 1923.Added to timeline:
