Description:
When the Roman Empire fell the European Middle Ages began. Poverty and safety became a problem. During this time there were many inventions: flamethrower, stirrups, crossbows, windmills, spectacles, compass and the spinning wheel. There were also Viking invasions. Iceland was discovered by Irish Monks. Later education for all was encouraged and their were three universities in Europe. The Crusades happened during this time. There was also a plague in 1350.
