Giotto was an Italian painter and architect born in Vicchio, Italy who moved to Florence and worked during the Late Middle Ages. He introduced new techniques that would later define the style of art for the next period after the Gothic or Proto-Renaissance. He created a stylistic shift with the idea of “realism”.
