Lincoln Presidency (mar 4, 1861 – apr 15, 1865)

Description:

Abraham Lincoln became the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln was an antislavery northerner, and when he was elected many southerners became angry. By the time Lincoln was president, 7 states from the south had seceded from the union. They formed the Confederate States of America. Thus, began the Civil War. Lincoln paved the way for the end of slavery, he also managed his own re-election campaign in 1864. Five days after the surrender of the Confederate general, Lincoln was assassinated and died the next day.
