Whig Party (jan 1, 1833 – mar 1, 1854)
Description:
The Whigs were formed in opposition to the president, Andrew Jackson. It was composed of former National Republicans, the Anti-Masonic Party, and dissatisfied Democrats. Due to them being made up of multiple groups they weren't as "single-issue" as the other parties. They were vocaly opposed to Andrew Jackson's tendency to ignore the supreme court and to challenge the constitution.
