Description:
Mansa Musa was an influential Muslim ruler of the Mali Empire. He controlled areas abundant in gold and copper, and as a result, made the Mali empire really rich.
He made a pilgrimage to Mecca(hajj) and brought back architects and scholars that eventually helped make Timbuktu world famous. Everyone wanted to know more about the wealthy African King.
