European Middle Ages (jan 1, 400 – jan 1, 1400)
Description:
The European middle ages was a time period that took place after the fall of the Roman empire and before the beginning of the modern world. During this time, the government was based around the feudal system which gave nobles and the church land. The church was the center of life throughout most of the middle ages. Some conflicts in the church included the Great Schism which involved multiple popes fighting for authority and the crusades which was a war between the catholic church and the Muslims. In the mid 13th century a disease known as the Subsonic Plague, or Black Death, devastated Europe and took out around half the population.
