To add to that, during the time period of the 1800s-1900s, sewer systems were implemented in many cities of the U.S. and Europe, but this ended up causing an overwhelming amount of untreated sewage. This made people experiment with different ways to treat the untreated sewage such as sewage farming and filtration. (jan 1, 1800 – jan 1, 1900)
