Description:
Abraham Lincoln was a Republican who was a self educated man who had been elected to one term in Congress in 1846, believed that slavery
was immoral. The majority of Southerners viewed Lincoln's nomination as a loss of their political voice and states started to secede. Lincoln led the nation during the Civil War, issued the Emancipation Proclamation, issued the 13th amendment.
