European middle Ages (jan 1, 401 – jan 1, 1401)

Description:

The majority of people living during the Middle Ages lived in the country and worked as farmers. Usually there was a local lord who lived in a large house called a manor or a castle. Local peasants would work the land for the lord. The peasants were called the lord's "villeins", which was like a servant. The worst crime that you could commit in Medieval times was high treason against the King. If you were a women, and committed this crime, they would burned you alive. The homes of rich people were fancier than those of the peasants. They had paved floors and tapestries sometimes hung on walls. They made the house warmer. Only the rich people had glass in their windows.
