Cold War (jan 1, 1947 – jan 1, 1991)
Description:
The cold war was an unconventional war, mostly between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. This war the first war of its kind, without the traditional attack fronts, and taking of territory.
The most prevalent tactics used were mainly ideological. Such as political campaigns, information collection, and stockpiling weapons.
The war began under Harry S. Truman, at the end of world war two, when Germany fell. The communistic Russia, and the freedom loving capitalist U.S, no longer had a common enemy.
The U.S. almost fell several times, in dangerous circumstances. Like the Cuban missile crisis. Though the war officially ended in 1991.
