Dred Scott v Sanford 1847- March 6 1857 (jan 1, 1847 – mar 6, 1857)

Description:

When the case first began he was already 50 years old. His case went all the wasy to the supreme court. The supreme court than rulled that declared slaves are not citizens of the United States and therefor could not sue in Federal courts.The Court also ruled that Congress did not have the power to ban slavery in U.S. territories
