The Global War on Terrorism began with a plane crashing into the twin towers on September 11th, 2001 that was supposedly planned by terrorists. Tom Brokaw, who had just witnessed the fall of one of the twin towers, declared that terrorists had declared war on America. The United States constructed a worldwide coalition of seventy countries that destroyed terrorist training camps, dismantled the brutal Tailban regime, denied Al-Qaeda a safe haven in Afghanistan, and saved many people from starvation.Added to timeline:
