Description:

2 Kings 11 records Athalia destroying all the royal seed of Judah and take over the reign. She clearly wasn't impressed with Jehu taking Ahaziah, her son 's, life.
There was a faithful remnant of the priesthood (Jehoiada) v4 and people v2 who rescued Joash the son of Ahaziah from being killed by his grandmother as a one year old.
Joash was in hiding with the priests in the temple for about 6 years.
He was eventually brought out and proclaimed King by Jehoiada the priest with the backing of the army.
Athalia was subsequently slain with anyone who followed her. v 15-16
