The vietnam war officially started on the 1st of November, not long after the American and Russian cold war. USA was worried that communism would spread through all of south-east Asia, and in their efforts to 'help', they kinda started a war. The war ended with the fall and renaming of Saigon into Ho Chi Minh City (where my mum usd to live) Overall, roughly 308, 220 soldiers died, 524 being Australian, roughly 58, 220 American and 250, 000 Viet.
