Description:
The Second Industrial Revolution was a time that many large and small countries advanced in industrial development. The Second Industrial Revolution followed the First Industrial Revolution that began in Britain in the 18th Century. This time of rapid advancement spread throughout Western Europe and later through North America. The Second Industrial Revolution was characterized by railroads, iron and steel producing, machinery in manufacturing and the advancements of steam power. Another major advancement was the use of electrification. The period 1870 to 1914 was a time of engineering and science-based inventions.
