Paul Ehrlich (jan 1, 1854 – jan 1, 1915)
Description:
Paul Ehrlich is credited for finding a cure for syphilis in 1909 when his laboratory discovered arsphenamine. The methods he developed for tissue staining gave us the ability to distinguish between different types of blood cells, allowing the diagnosis of numerous blood diseases. He won a Nobel Prize in 1908 for his contributions to immunology.
