World War 2 (sep 1, 1939 – sep 2, 1945)

Description:

There are many debates on when the war actually began. I am choosing 1 Sep 1939, when Hitler invaded Poland. This however was an act of war, though it was Sep 3, before France and England declared war on Germany.

Throughout WW2, it is estimated that about 75 million people died, not just from the war though. The mass genocide of Jews, Christians, and anyone who did not belong to Hitlers 'Perfect Race' were killed.

The U.S. joined the war after the bombing of pearl harbor, on Dec 7 1941. The big three, a modern triumvirate which included Winston Churchill, Josef Stalin, and Franklin Roosevelt, were crucial, to bringing down Germany and Japans reins of terror.
