Reform in Athens: 594 BC (jan 1, 594 BC – jan 2, 594 BC)
Description:
Up until this point, citizens of Athens were subject to some of the harshest laws and penalties in history. They were written by an Athenian known as Draco. The Athenians did not put up with this for too long, though. In 594 BC, a man by the name of Solon, proposed a new set of laws that would allow the citizens to dictate how thing ran in their country and grant suffrage.
