This is what results from the reading of his will, the main provisions of which are, “that he elected his burial place at the Children which he had in the Parish Church of Saint-Gonnery (d); That he gave to TRISTAN the Seneschal his cousin, Sir of Saint-Trivier, all the lands that the latter held from him, and that as he was of the King's Orders, he added a horse with his harness, but in case that he went to war, & on condition that the same Tristan would keep him free from what he was entitled to ask again or as heir of the late GUILLAUME the Seneschal his father (a), or as a consequence of the tutorship & curatorship of the late Jean the Seneschal his brother who had been managed by the testator; That he wanted us to pay annually to YVES the Seneschal, Sir of the Ville-Boscher, a quantity of rye to help him maintain himself according to his condition etc. ” And he also bequeathed various sums both to Isabelle le GAL his niece, to proviof for his advance by marriage, and to another girl whom he called: Magdeléne Bastarof dudict late Jehan the Seneschal.
He had married CATHERINE DE LA MOTTE-VAUCLER, who was not only the daughter of Jaques of the MOTTE, Sire of Vaucler, of Lorfeil etc. & Anne of TRÉAL, as we said in the first Register, but granddaughter of Gui of the MOTTE, Sire of Vaucler, of Lorfeil, of Ville Gast etc. & of Louise of MONTAUBAN full sister of the Admiral of this name (b), & who being mistress of herself on December 19, 1534 made with Noble & Powerful Christophe of the MOTTE her brother, Sire of Vaucler & of Lorfeil, an agreement by which he promised to give his sister her share in the estates of their fathers and mothers as she might have had when she married the late Lord of Kercado. Christophe of the Motte died before this partition; But in his place the curator of his sons (Joseph & Laurent of the Motte-Vaucler), ceded to Catherine of the Motte by deed of May 22, 1543. the Lordships of Newcastle en Goëlo & of Maugremieu, together all their Lands, Houses, Annuities, Fiefs, Jurisdictions, Obediences & Church preeminence; And on July 26 of the same year, a Confession was returned to her where, with the quality of Noble & Powerful Dame, she also has that of Dame of Kercado & of Maugremieu, as well as in another act of September 14, 1549.
Of various children from the marriage of Guillaume the Seneschal & Catherine of the Motte-Vaucier, the eldest & main heir & Noble was under the terms of the act of September 14, 1549, ROBERT the Seneschal which follows; And we still know two girls, know:
