David Harvey (jan 1, 1935 – jan 1, 2020)
Description:
His Social Justice and the City (1973) set off the Marxist Revival of the 1970s and 1980s. His Limits to Capital (1982) is considered his most important work. Social Justice attacked the neoclassical approach of the Alonso-Muth-Mills model. Harvey pioneered using Marx's categories of absolute and monopoly rent in urban analysis. His "class monopoly rent" is a major tool of contemporary urban political economy.
