Ottoman retreat (Ruwiki) (jan 18, 1916 – jan 19, 1916)

Description:

The commander of the 3rd Turkish army, Mahmut Kamil Pasha , to restrain the onslaught of the Russians, threw units to the north from the southern flank, eventually weakening him to the limit, which Yudenich took advantage of. On January 18, he struck at the weakened southern flank of Turkish defense. The defense of the Turks faltered and fell apart. An erratic retreat began. The Russians captured more than 2 thousand prisoners, and rushed into the pursuit. Yudenich sent General Raddats to the breakthrough from his reserve, the Siberian Cossack brigade , and on January 19 she rushed into the Hasan-Kala fortress with a swift throw , not allowing the retreating Turks to take up defense in it. The mixed units of the enemy rolled back to Erzurum.
