an Austrian born composer and conductor who became one of the most famous composers in Hollywood history.
Erich Korngold was one of the earliest to adapt classical music to the screen. The outbreak of war in 1938 caused Korngold to remain in America. Max Steiner, another European immigrant, also turned to filmscoring.
