Russo-Polish War (jan 1, 1654 – jan 1, 1667)
Description:
A war that broke out after Russia allied with Kossacks against Poland-Lithuania.
The initial Russian victories were halted when the Swedes invaded - a strong Sweden wasn't in Russian interest.
1667 - a truce is reached. Ukraine gets divided between the Commonwealth and Russia, with most of the land taken over by Russia. This spelled an end to the Commonwealth's position as a power to be reckoned with, and heralded further Russian expansion to the West.
