Peròn's Free Trade and Support strategy (jan 1, 1945 – dec 11, 1945)
Description:
Peròn's Free Trade and political strategy are significant for the ideological, successful, and economic aspects of Peròn's populist regime. Peròn's strategy was to rally the proletariat against foreign business and the elite, referencing his rise to power. From an ideological standpoint, Peròn's movement attracted the support of the extreme right and left of the Argentine political spectrum. The movement was successful in gaining further support. However the support strategy does relate to a failure by Peròn in the movement having a unifying vision and a policy incoherence to match conflicting views. As far as the free-trade agreement, Peròn used his position as minister of labour to settle disputes in favor of unions. The leaders of said unions would then give political allegiance to Peròn. So, a successful economic policy was able to spread Peon's ideology of supporting unions while adding to his power.
