China After Mao (14h 12min, may 14, 1976 y – 14h 12min, may 14, 1979 y)

Description:

After Mao Zedong died in 1976, a conflict began between the moderate Communists and the Gang of Four, a radical group led by Jiang Qing. The moderates wanted to restore order and economic growth, although Jiang Qing’s group wished to continue the Cultural Revolution.
Eventually, the moderates won and placed the Gang of Four on trial for treason, in which they were later found guilty and given a life sentence.
Deng Xiaoping, the new leader of the moderates, directed a complete reform of the economy, called the Four Modernizations, which was designed to improve agricultural, industry, science, technology, and national defense. During this time, China had one of the fastest-growing economies, as their were cultural and scientific exchanges with the West, as well as the importation of technology.
