Community Based Era (feb 1, 1967 – jan 1, 1980)

Description:

The community based era focused on reformation and reintroduction into society. The main idea of this era was that isolation will make assimilation impossible. This era brought an introduction to work release, allowing the offender to work as a form of rehabilitation and make inmates a valuable member of society.
