James I (jan 1, 1603 – jan 1, 1625)
Description:
Son of Mary Stuart, first king from the Scottish House of Stuart.
During his reign, England and Scotland were joined with a personal union.
A mediocre politician, he squandered English funds, and relied mostly on the support of the Anglican church. At odds with the Parliament, he imposed illegitimate taxes on society.
