Himyar (jan 1, 380 – jan 1, 525)
Description:
The rulers of the Himyarite Kingdom, a powerful state in what is now Yemen, converted to Judaism along with most of the kingdom's population. They allied themselves with other Arabian Jewish tribes, and saw themselves as defenders of the Jewish people. The Himyarite Kingdom fought many wars with neighboring Christian states, and was eventually defeated by the Ethiopian Kingdom of Axum.
