Snake Bite Kits (apr 22, 1939 – aug 11, 1945)
Description:
Snake bite suction kits were used on soldiers to eliminate poison from snake bites, arrows, and insects. The kits were distributed to soldiers who were in remote areas of the jungle. Victims of a poisonous bite would use iodine on the bite. Cross incisions were made where the fangs had been. Using a suction cup, the poison would be removed and then the injured body part would be sterilized. [11]
