Description:
Philip II Habsburg. A son of Charles V HRE, a pious catholic and an incompetent king.Because of his oppresive policies towards the Protestants as well as unfavourable economic policies, he lost the crown of the Netherlands.
Spain also lost its position as a world power. Philip's rule plunged the country into an economic crisis.
