The American Enlightenment 1714-1818 (mar 3, 1714 – apr 11, 1818)

Description:

The American Enlightenment was a result of the enlightenment happening in England. This enlightenment promoted the sciences and reasoning. It focused on thinking things through, which in turn, helped lead to the American Revolution. Enlightenment thinkers were John Locke, Thomas Hobbes, Voltaire, Baron Montesquieu, Immanuel Kant, Adam Smith, and Denis Diderot. The enlightenment was a revolution in science for England but was a revolution in politics for America. This political awakening wasn't stopped after we gained our independence. It helped shaped our nation in its early years.
