-- Many forms of criticisms developed.
-- many Enlightenment thinkers found it unreasonable and superstitious to believe in miracles and other such supernatural phenomena.
-- Many adhered to deistic principles and denied creationism.
-- One of the most famous interpreters was Thomas Jefferson
-- He created the Jefferson Bible which moral teachings of Jesus and those passages about Jesus’ life that Jefferson considered reasonable.
-- Many scholars focused on the morals of the Bible.
