Forming the Chinese Republic (13h 53min, mar 31, 1921 y – 13h 53min, mar 31, 1929 y)

Description:

In the early 1920s, technical, political, and military advisors were sent by the Soviets to help build an improved China army, in order to defeat the warlords and establish a strong central government.
In July of 1921, a small group met and founded the Chinese Communists Party in Shanghai, to free their country from foreign domination and economic problems.
The Northern Expedition, a military campaign against the warlords, began in 1926 by Chiang Kai-shek, the former military commander. Warlord resistance caved in against the orderly, highly inspired Nationalists.
Chaing moved against the party’s left-wing members and expelled all Soviet advisers in 1927. Chaing and his followers set up a one party-rule system, and massive construction projects began, education was improved and a national bank was established. However, the Nationalists failed to deal with two important issues; (1) change the oppressive system of land ownership, and (2) change tax collection methods.
